We understand the business of farming and all there is to protect. That is why we take the time to analyze farm insurance needs, develop a plan that is customized and responsive to our customers’ specific situations, and offer competitive pricing that is reflective of a farmer’s exposure and experience.

Our farm insurance coverages are tailored to meet your farm’s property and liability risks, whether you’re running a large-scale operation or simply enjoying a hobby.

Farm insurance programs from Evergreen Insurance cover dwelling and household personal property, farm personal property, barns, stables, silos and other structures. Our farm liability insurance also protects against injury and property damage, medical payments, advertising injury and could include farm pollution.

Structures

A farm insurance package includes property and structure coverage. This can include dwellings on the farm, such as family home or mobile homes, plus barns for the farm animals, the feed barn, crop storage units, and any other building such as a repair shop or equipment storage. All structures must be listed specifically on the policy or will not be covered.

Liability

Liability insurance covers claims related to alleged bodily injury or property damage caused by an incident or activity on a covered farm property. This coverage is especially important for farms which hold events or have shops that are visited by the public. Coverage can also be provided to off-premises farming activities, such as farmer’s markets, local fairs, etc.

Equipment

Farm equipment may be covered under the property section of a farm policy. The equipment may be scheduled, or itemized, in a policy. This is appropriate for large and expensive equipment. Tools and smaller equipment may be grouped into a single dollar value instead of an itemized list.

Farm Vehicle

Vehicles used on public roadways may be covered by a personal or farm vehicle policy. However, equipment used primarily for the business of farming or only off-road on the farm requires special coverage. Farm vehicles can include the family private passenger cars, SUV’s and pickup trucks used for personal use and in conjunction with farming. Coverage can also include dump trucks, tractor-trailer trucks, livestock trailers, equipment trailers and grain trailers used for the farming operation.

Workers’ Compensation

Workers’ compensation insurance benefits protect employers from lawsuits and provide compensation for employees who are injured or become ill as a result of a work-related incident. If one of your employees is injured on the job and is medically authorized to take time off from work, he or she will be reimbursed for lost wages and medical expenses related to the treatment and rehabilitation.

Livestock

Livestock policies provide coverage for loss due to death or necessary destruction of livestock, caused by a covered peril.
